If you like leather, earthly colors and surrealism, then this designer is probably going beyond your dreams. Headpieces, necklaces and the most beautiful bags. Everything made out of vegetably tanned leather, in the most soft pink and soft brownish colors. Just just need one look on this man’s collection and you know he is gonna be great. And by great I mean…really great!
Niels Peeraer, with his own leather necklace
The first time you see his items, you will probably love this designer immediately. The first time you see his pictures, you may be a little shocked. This designer makes clothes and accessories, you would probably see as women’s fashion, but in his pictures he uses men. This may sound contradictory, but it actually works pretty good. The pictures sometimes seem to be so unrealistic, that you become intrigued and look better at every picture that follows. And that’s what this man’s designs do; they intrigue you. That’s the power of Niels Peeraer!
Niels Peeraer was born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1989. He attended the Royal Fashion Academy of Antwerp and graduaded from his Master in June 2011 with his collection ‘Guess Technology Isn’t Ready For Pancake Teleportation’. This collection was based on the story of a boy who has an imaginary boyfriend. It showed exactly how creative Peeraer is, what he is able to and what he can achieve. Also his passion for raw leather accessories together with soft designs, emerged in his collection. And besides the clothes and accessories themself, he also showed his ability to look beyond the boundries of the sexes. He wasn’t looking for men with six-packs to show his Collection on, he was looking for young feminine Asian men, to make his Collection look light, funny and not holded back by boundries; words which describes how we all want to live. And Peeraer got rewarded for his work, because he got 5 awards and a collaboration with Delvaux, a Belgian company who made fine leather luxury accessories, for a limited editon handbag line! And his collection Peeraer showed at Paris Fashionweek in 2011!

But Peeraer wasn’t only rewarded for his Master Collection, also his Bachelor Collection ‘Kizokusyakai No Dorei, Geisha N° 58 – 65’ was rewarded with the Innovation Award from Anne Chapelle, the conducting lady behind Belgian designers Ann Demeulemeester and Haider Ackermann. And Peeraer also won an award at the ITS#9, an international talent contest in Italy.
And when Peeraer was done with his study, he followed his dreams. He moved to Paris and started his own lable for leather accessories. And like Peeraer showed before in his Master Collection, he didn’t want to be bond by the boundries of men’s and women’s fashion and came up with universal, almost happy, pieces. And since Peeraer started his own lable, he came up with beautiful accessories, all different and fresh. But what they all had in common was the shown respect for the beauty of the leather and the surpassing of gender’s boundries!

Claudia,
I really want to know how you go about making such comprehensive posts on a daily basis like this. I know how long it takes me to render photos, for me posting just three a day and sorting them takes 1/4 of my day. The fact that you are so prolific is just awesome. Please keep writing and don’t ever stop.

First thanks for the compliments and your comment!
It really cost me a lot of time!
When I see something nice, interesting or intriguing, I’ll write it down and go work on it another day. Then I search everything about the designer, style, model etc. Read the most important things, search the most beautiful pictures and then I go writing. The searching cost me the most time. The writing goes quick, but writing really is the love of my life. Feel so free when doing that. And it’s almost like I’m in the persons life for a moment. But well, a post like this cost me like 4 hours, including all the searching.

Oh wow! What a collection. Really original. I feel like the pink makes it so unusual.
Dip It Black said:
Great, isn’t it?!
Yes, it’s kind of skin tone pink.
But I think it’s also the fact that men are wearing ‘feminine’ pieces.
